Mahacu (Մահացու, meaning “deadly” in Armenian) is an Armenian addition to the iconic Death Note typeface, created by Artyom “MillKeny” Arzumanyan in 2025. The font adapts the dark and dramatic visual language of the original Death Note lettering to Armenian letterforms while preserving its intense and unsettling mood.
Characterized by sharp, irregular strokes and a rough, hand-drawn appearance, Mahacu conveys tension, mystery, and psychological unease. Its expressive forms evoke a disturbing, ominous atmosphere that naturally aligns with themes of danger and death.
Mahacu is especially well suited for scary movie posters, horror and thriller book covers, dark-themed titles, anime- and manga-inspired visuals, album artwork, graphic storytelling, and creative projects that require a frightening, dramatic, and emotionally charged typographic presence.
