The short version
There are no accounts here and nothing is for sale, so there is not much to collect. We count downloads, we run the usual analytics and advertising scripts, and we answer the mail people send us. We have never sold data and we are not about to start.
When you download a font
Every download writes one row to our own database. That row holds:
- which font, and the date and time
- your IP address, stored in full
- your browser's user agent, and whether the device looks like a phone, a tablet or a desktop
- the page you arrived from, and which language you were reading the site in
- a country code, when our host provides one
We read this to see which fonts people actually use, to keep bots out of the counters, and to tell font authors how their work is doing. It stays on our server. Advertisers never see it.
Download rows are deleted after 400 days. The running total shown on each font page survives, because a number on its own says nothing about who you are.
Analytics
Google Analytics and Yandex Metrika load on every page. Both set their own cookies and both receive your IP address, and what happens to it after that is governed by their policies rather than ours. If you would rather not be measured, a tracker blocker stops both of them without breaking the site.
Advertising
Ads on the site are served by TinyAdz. Their script may use cookies or similar storage to count impressions. We hand them nothing about you, and no download data ever reaches them.
Facebook widgets
Some pages embed Facebook's SDK for sharing and comments. Facebook can tell that your browser opened the page, whether or not you have an account with them.
Forms and email
The contact form, the font submission form and the change request form send what you type straight to [email protected]. Those messages sit in the mailbox and are used to reply to you, nothing else.
The converter and the font checker
Both tools run entirely inside your browser. The files you open are read by JavaScript on your own machine and never reach our server. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
Cookies
The site itself sets one session cookie, which remembers the language you picked. Everything else comes from the analytics and advertising scripts above.
Asking us to delete something
Write to [email protected] and we will tell you what is stored against your IP address, or delete it. There is no account to close, so that is usually the whole request. Give us a few days.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
